You know a machine or production cell in Assembly will be up and running soon when one of these guys is stationed nearby with their laptops. The extent of automation and control systems used in UNISIG machines requires the valuable skills of controls engineers and controls technicians like Mike and Alex – members of our electrical engineering group. Their expertise is a vital part of our manufacturing process - read more about it here: unisig.com/core/electrical-engineering

Some strategies are developed in conference rooms, but a lot of very important manufacturing work gets done with real-time problem solving, wherever it is needed. A laptop and a coolant tote for a conference table are all you need to get an answer from inventory control and keep your project moving forward. UNISIG's UNX-CP machines drill deep, off-center holes with exceptional accuracy through the use of very specialized technology. What this means for our customers is very accurate, very straight holes, even at depth to diameter ratios of 375:1. Watch the video for an in-depth explanation.

This UNISIG B500-3M machine drills 4” diameter holes up to 10 feet deep, with exceptional accuracy and concentricity due to counter-rotation of the workpiece. Every day UNISIG employees are engineering and building incredible machines designed to drill holes that machining centers cannot.

UNISIG proudly displays a Garrison flag in our main assembly bay. The prominent 20’ x 38’ flag was installed by the assembly team, and Nate – assembly supervisor – soon noticed a problem. When all the lights were turned off in the shop, the emergency lights that remain lit were not centered on the flag. Nate didn’t hesitate to take initiative and get the wiring in the shop changed so that the flag would always remain well lighted.
Building machines under this flag reminds us of what we must live up to, with everything our country has given us. Happy Independence Day to all!
